The 2016 Spokane International Film Festival just concluded in Spokane WA. Two short films from the 2015 50 Hour Slam were among the 50+ films selected from 27 different countries to be screened this year at the festival. Lockhart FD is a short film directed by Davin Perry and follows a rogue health inspector as he investigates the seedy underworld of bootlegged gluten. Not only did Lockhart FD bring home the Septi, Hip Clip, but also Best Cinematography at the 2015 50 Hour Slam. Then we have She Only Wants Me For My Body. Directed by Travis Lien, the film depicts a young man as he struggles with death, marriage, and infidelity on his birthday. For his work, Travis Lien walked away with the SpIFF’s Most Promising Filmmaker award. Both films were screened during Best of the Northwest, but if you missed it, you can still catch their short films at the links below.
